Hicham Lasri successfully tries his hand at satirical comedy to depict key events in the Morocco of the ’80s. A policeman with amnesia is sent to a bridge linking two shantytowns, Coke and Pepsi, to handle security for the King of Morocco’s motorcade. His job is to keep the frenzied crowds at bay during the royal visit. Using absurdity to lay bare his country’s social and historical conflicts, Lasri paints a critical portrait of his people that is inimitably raw and poetic.IN COMPETITIONIN THE PRESENCE OF THE DIRECTORWith the support of the CENTRE CULTREL MAROCAIN
